Thanks Auntie debbie

Today the boys (mostly Jaxon) were super excited. Today was the day we went to walmart to pick out toys from auntie Debbie. She had sent money and told us to get them something. So we figured what better then having them pick something out. Jaxon was thrilled walking up and down the aisles... even though we brought home the first thing he saw. Are you about as surprised as I am that they are both car related...

Owen got this cool three tiered track

Jaxon was thrilled to get this wolf mountian hot wheels track. he has seen it on TV and has been asking for it!

New for Owen

Owen is getting so big so fast. I have really noticed this with my second little boy because I dont think he realizes he isnt the same age as Jaxon because everything Jaxon does Owen insists on doing as well. For example... For about a week owen has been refusing to eat. I thought maybe is was not well or his teeth hurt or something... then I sat him at the table one night in complete frustration and he ate. Turns out he will eat forever if he is sitting at the table like a big boy. make for more of a mess but I figure with my two boys Im just going to have to accept the fact that life is messy!

Owen has also discovered McDonalds... or maybe its just fries and ketchup. But either way he is happy. He likes the dipping... even if I dip it for him he insists on doing it himself before he will eat it.
Here is is swiping some of Jaxon's Happy Meal!

Christmas Party

The Christmas season started a few weeks ago for us. We kicked it off by going to Tim's work Childrens Christmas party. It was really fun. They had an awesome breakfast and coloring and cookie decorating and even santa!

Jaxon had so much fun playing with Santa!

They boys even got a present from santa! They were thrilled!

But the best part was the Candy Canes! What could be better for owen! It was basically a flavoured soother. he got all sticky and loved it.

Jaxon is a candy cane pro. although he prefers flavoured ones as opposed to the mint ones. but candy is candy!

I hate winter. Yes I am as Canadian as you can get but I hate winter. I dont like being cold. I think Snow is a nuisance. I hate when all the clothes get wet from melting snow. It has been snowing since monday night... so as you can imagine I am none too happy. In fact tomorrow will be a Pajama day.
To Cheer myself up I thought id share some cuties with you. Of course I am talking about my boys.
Owen has discovered snow glasses. We will have to look and find him some of his own. These ones are Jaxons. But he loves them. He is constantly having me put them on him. Then he looks at you and waits for you to say "Oh cool Dude!"

Jaxon is loving Preschool. It is devastating when I tell him its not a school day. I dread tuesdays and Thursdays. he gets so bored with out school. He talks about school all the time. he sings the songs, he tells me what Miss Carey had for snack and he asks when he goes again. he LOVES it. So to try and make Tuesday and Thursday not so sad for him I have had to step it up a notch in the creative mom department. I have come up with 12 simple and practically free Chrsitmas/winter themed crafts to do with Jaxon (and Owen is he isnt napping). We will do one a day on those dreaded non school days leading up to christmas.
Yesterday we had our first craft... it was toilet paper roll snowmen. I had painted them white before hand and then after lunch Jaxon busted out his smelly markers (he loves those things) and decorated them up. He had me draw on faces. Now they sit in the middle of our table as our winter centerpiece.

If you want to see the finished product you will have to scoop out

What? Those arent cars!

Here is a quick little update on the monster the leaves among us... Owen! He is a handful! He acts older then he is and is constantly doing what Jaxon does. But the worst is the attitude. I am giving this little boy time outs all the time and he just doesnt care. He will sit there and roll his eyes on me... yes my 14 month old does the eye roll! Yesterday I put him into Time out and he did the eye roll as I was explaining why he was in time out and then I asked "Are you ready to listen to mommy?" To which he shook his head no... so he sat in time out longer and still shook his head when I asked if he was going to Im in so much trouble...
Trying to get the bib off

Trying to get milk... yep climbing the fridge... awesome

All you who know my little guy knows that he loves I mean LOVES cars. We have tons of cars (hot wheels!) and we also have tons of other toys too but the other toys are just collecting dust because all he will ever play with is cars. I have been trying to think of non car toys for christmas... try to add variety into his life but lets face it... he will love all the car things! the other day I had a huge surprise... Jaxon went up to his room to get some lego... I was thrilled to see him playing with something other then cars. I asked "What are you making?" "bridges for my cars" was his answer... well I guess thats a baby step!

The things he says

Jaxon is so funny! and now that he has started school he seems to be always thinking and saying the most random things. he cracks me up. here are a few;
1) Jaxon knows all his letters, but now when he talks about letters he calls G "the tricky letter between f adn H" I have no idea why???
2) When I am mad at him he comes up to me and says "Mom its ok I forgive you"
3) He is constantly telling me what letters things start with "Insect starts with I" or "apple starts with a"
there are tons more but Its not time to take the man to preschool! I wonder what today will hold!

Everybody needs a brother

I will admit that my first reaction when I was told I was having a second boy was dissappointment. I really wanted one of each. But I soon realized how awesome having two boys close together would be. Jaxon and Owen are the best of friends! I love it. Watching them is so fun. owen does everything jaxon does and wants to be right there with him all the time.

Jaxon loves playing on my computer. Here is his playing Super Why games and of course Owen is right there too!

Jaxon also loves the Wii... Owen now has to hold a remote and pretend to play whenever Jaxon is playing. DO NOT get in owens way when jaxon is playing because you will get a firm push out of the way!

Monkey See... Monkey Do
This time is was Owen's turn to show Jaxon what was cool. Owen loves walking around with things on his head... blankets... bowls... halloween buckets. He is a dare devil and thinks its funny.

Jaxon had to give it a go too.

Ok, I know these arent great pictures of the boys. But they are the best I could get at the party I did with my friend Kim on Friday. It was a party with a bunch of our friends. each family got a door in the church and had to decorate it. Then the kids got to go trick or treating around the inside of the church. then we awarded a best decorated door prize and had snacks and played halloween themed games.

Owen the Hamburger... he likes the camera and was trying to grab it

Jaxon the Chicken... yes he was this chicken last year but he insisted on it again. Heck it saved me getting a new costume. Jaxon wont stay still long enough for me to get a picture

Both boys! It was the best one of the bunch...
Maybe Ill get a better one at trunk or treating this weekend.. or when Jaxon dresses up to go to his preschool party

What Owen loves

Besides is super amazing, beyond wonderful, beautiful mommy there are a few other things that Owen loves.
Owen loves music. he will dance as often as he can and loves listening to music. He is discovered books that play music. He current favorite is one that mama gave to Jaxon years ago and we listened to it for literally days (no joke days) non stop as we took a road trip from calgary to Portland. It plays Thomas the Train (another love of both my boys) songs. He will lay there and push a button then get up and dance until the song is over... then push a new button!

Owen loves food. Ok.. so you must be thinking "All she ever writes about is how owen is eating things adn loves food... does he ever stop eating?" the answer is NO... Im surprised he is not 300 lbs. He passionately loves eating. he will snack and eat all day. He begs for food! He also loves feeding himself!

Owen loves books! I am so thrilled that owen loves stories and books. I am a bookworm and I have successfully passed that onto jaxon and now it appears that Owen is headed down the right path as well! HOORAY BOOKS! (he is sitting in his rocking chair... which is another thing he loves. Dont get any awwwww ideas he doesnt snuggle with me init... he uses it as a surf board... yep they will come to know me quite well in the ER im sure!)

How can you NOT love them!?

I am so lucky to be the mother of these two boys. What have I learned??? TO GO WITH THE FLOW. My Boys are INSANE! I never know what to expect and so I just try and sit back and let it all happen. They are hilarious!

Jaxon made this hat at preschool... he used the most stickers out of any kid in his class. I tried to put it on and he said "no way mom... I worked hard on that!"

Owen is generally so happy... expect when I bring him inside (he loves playing outside) and when he is hungry... but he is a ham and loves the camera! he will stop crying to give you a grin.

Owen loves the tub! He will literally stay in the tub unti lits freezing cold and I insist on taking him out so he doesnt get hypothermia..
But look at this face... how can you not Love that!

For the Love of Food

Owen loves food. He is always eating, and eating TONS. My Little Monster! Lately he has really gotten independant and insists on feeding himself. He wont eat unless he can do it himself. It takes a little longer but Im ok with that.

MMMMM Noodles

Big Bite

Owen Loves Cheese Buns

Owen and Jaxon being goofy! This cracks me up

What else has been going on... Jaxon has been making more jokes... I dont always get them... but in his three yr old mind they are hilarious. His favorite is the following; We read scriptures every night and we recently talked about King Benjimen and then King Noah, but when we asked him one night who we had talked about he shouted "King Julien" (he is on Penguins of Madagascar) Now he will smirk and say "King Julien" every night at scripture time.
Owen... is a stinker. He will know put himself in time out. He will do something bad and then walk over to Time out spot and sit there and grin at me... I dont think he is too concerned about it! ARGH or if I send him to Time out he will march over there throw himself down and cry then stop and grin at me and move on... I have my hands full with him
He has also taken to jumping off things. He isnt very good and Im now simply waiting for the broken bones. Im sure it will happen eventually no matter what I do!

Tommy K Play

There is a new play place near us. Its called Tommy K Play. Its really cool. But super expensive. $9 a kid (more if they are over 4) so we have only gone once. But Jaxon keeps asking to go back and Im sure that if Owen could talk he would be too! Ill have to save money and make it a treat trip! It has a huge climbing structure, slides, little cars to ride, laser maze and even x boxes. Its intense. Great place for the boys to burn off their excessive energy. I get to burn some cals too!

Revenge is Sweet

Jaxon has become a little agressive with Owen lately... I dont think he means to be mean... he is just rough. He likes to wrestle and knock Owen over and push him off the couch. Its hard to teach him not to do that because 95% of the time Owen is laughing about it. But today the tables turned... Jaxon was standing on the arm of the couch watching them Grate the alley across the street and Owen crawled up behind him and pushed him off the couch. Jaxon started crying but really what was I do to. I told Owen it wasnt nice, but I also told Jaxon that Owen only did it because he thought it was a game since Jaxon was doing it to him. Dont play the game if you cant take the pain.

I am a mother of Boys!

I love being a mother of boys. They are so fun... and they sure do keep life interesting. Everyday is a new adventure with my boys. They are wonderful little stinkers! They make me laugh everyday!

Owen is really into exploring. I try to be crafty at least once a day... helps keep me sane. So on this day I was down in the crafty nook, I looked up and saw this. I guess Owen just wanted to make himself comfortable while playing trains (also one of his favorite things)

Anything great thing about boys is brothers! Jaxon and Owen are the best of buddies! Now that Owen is bigger they play together all the time. Jaxon loves to give Owen rides on his Plasma car and now owen can even get on by himself

Owen loves to hide... he thinks he is so clever. Can you see him peaking out at you?
