Tommy K Play

There is a new play place near us. Its called Tommy K Play. Its really cool. But super expensive. $9 a kid (more if they are over 4) so we have only gone once. But Jaxon keeps asking to go back and Im sure that if Owen could talk he would be too! Ill have to save money and make it a treat trip! It has a huge climbing structure, slides, little cars to ride, laser maze and even x boxes. Its intense. Great place for the boys to burn off their excessive energy. I get to burn some cals too!

Revenge is Sweet

Jaxon has become a little agressive with Owen lately... I dont think he means to be mean... he is just rough. He likes to wrestle and knock Owen over and push him off the couch. Its hard to teach him not to do that because 95% of the time Owen is laughing about it. But today the tables turned... Jaxon was standing on the arm of the couch watching them Grate the alley across the street and Owen crawled up behind him and pushed him off the couch. Jaxon started crying but really what was I do to. I told Owen it wasnt nice, but I also told Jaxon that Owen only did it because he thought it was a game since Jaxon was doing it to him. Dont play the game if you cant take the pain.

I am a mother of Boys!

I love being a mother of boys. They are so fun... and they sure do keep life interesting. Everyday is a new adventure with my boys. They are wonderful little stinkers! They make me laugh everyday!

Owen is really into exploring. I try to be crafty at least once a day... helps keep me sane. So on this day I was down in the crafty nook, I looked up and saw this. I guess Owen just wanted to make himself comfortable while playing trains (also one of his favorite things)

Anything great thing about boys is brothers! Jaxon and Owen are the best of buddies! Now that Owen is bigger they play together all the time. Jaxon loves to give Owen rides on his Plasma car and now owen can even get on by himself

Owen wears his emotions and thoughts on his face. there is never any guessing as to what he is thinking. I dont know if its because he is just little or if this will stick with him his whole life. All I know is it keeps me entertained!

First Day of Preschool

I have no clue where the time has gone but we had a big day in our house on Friday. Jaxon went to his first day of Preschool. I could not believe it! How did this happen?? Didnt I just give birth to this child???
Jaxon was so excited to go to Preschool. We have him in a Preschool in Okotoks called Leap n Learn (next year their will be one right across the street from us here in Walden) It sounds like an amazing program. So far I am impressed with it. Jaxon will be learning some French this year even! Jaxon loves to learn. Currently his favorite thing to do is those activity books. The ones about letters or numbers or shapes. He will do the same book over and over and over again... until we get a new on. He loves them and is now starting to right. Smart boy!

Friday was just an hour long with just half the class. Sort of a get to know you day. But Monday (yes tomorrow) is the real thing. We will see how I do. Lets hope I dont forget anything and that we make it there on time!

What brothers are for

Here are some pictures I promised my mom I would post for her. Yesterday I was making cupcakes for our third and final birthday BBQ. Jaxon had been screaming at Owen because Owen was getting his cars. I explained to him the importance of sharing (really the kid has almost 200 hot wheels... he can spare a few for his little brother) and then I went back to work. It was quiet so I tired around to admire the sharing I thought was going on. All I saw was Jaxon sitting on the laundry basket... then the little fingers peaked out of the holes. Yep jaxon trapped Owen in the laundry basket so that he wouldnt get his cars. I couldnt even get mad because Owen thought it was a funny game.

It's one of those weird days today. Owen's first birthday. While it seems like he has always been a part of our family and I have a hard time remember life before Owen, I also can't believe he is a year already! It sure did sneak up on me! What can I say about Owen? He is a sweetheart for sure but he is a pest too! He adores Jaxon and has to play with whatever Jaxon is playing with. He loves to wrestle and Im constantly telling them to play gentle! He also looks for ways to cause trouble. He is a stinker.But we love him.

She is Uber talented (yes I just said uber) Jaxon was miserable and not cooperating but she still got some amazing shots! I want to put them all up! Calaway park

A big Thank you goes out to my friend Brook for taking us with her to Calaway Park. Her husband gets passes from work so we were able to go for free, which was nice beause it is so expensive that I didnt want to pay all that money and then find out Jaxon didnt like it. But he LOVED it! We will for sure have to get passes next year.
It was a perfect day for it too. Warm, but not hot and cloudy so we werent sweating in the heat.

The free fall was Jaxon's favorite ride. He sees a ride like this on a commercial for Marine Land and wants to go. So when he saw this ride he insisted that he had to go on it. But I warned him that he was too little and they would say no. But I was wrong... he was just barely tall enough. So we went on and I was waiting for the tears... Nope wrong again... he was laughing the entire time!

He must have been exhausted because he slept the entire way home. Booster Seats arent very much fun to sleep in...

My Cuties

I just love my boys. They are growing up so fast! This past weekend we moved Owen up to a front facing carseat which means we put Jaxon in a booster seat. They both are super happy about the change. Owen loves being able to see and Jaxon loves the independence of getting in and out of the car on his own. Where did the time go??? He also loves that now he can ride in Daddy's purple car because its so easy to transer the booster seat!
Owen is starting to walk around tons and he is a climbing machine. He does stairs with little problems and yesterday I found him on Jaxon's bed. I also found him brushing his teeth the other day. He climbed up on the stool all by himself and even grabbed his tooth brush. What I kiddo!

Owen Loves when Jaxon plays with him. Their new favorite game is when Owen climbs into Jaxon's little wagon and Jaxon pulls him around. Owen LOVES it... really I think he just loves the attention from Jaxon. But Jaxon really loves this game too and is more then willing to play along!

Just a quick update

Im about to head off to story time with Jaxon but I wanted to give the world a quick update. Owen has started really walking, we took a video but I have wait for Tim to show me how to get the video on to the blog to share my proud mom moment. He has also figured out how to use a straw so now he loves slurpees. yes you heard me... my 11 month old loves slurpees. I cant believe in a month he will be 1 yr old! where did the time go??? Jaxon is getting so big and as really taken to math. We started teaching him addition and he knows all his +1's and now he is starting to out smart me. Ill tell him he needs to have 3 bits before he can leave the table and he goes.. "ok Ive had 2 already so that means I need 1 more" When really I meant 3 more bites. Sneaky guy! he is also learning about money. He has been saving any little money that people give him and the other day we were in walmart and he wanted a Hot wheel Semi truck...I told him he would have to use his money. So we got it and he gave me the money when we got home. Now he is trying really hard to think of ways to get more so he can go and get another truck. He is just growing up so fast. I sure love being these boys mom. Its a really fun job! (most days!)

A day like any other

Today was a day like any other. Which I guess is a good thing. We went to the park (twice) We watched movies, we played in the backyard, we even made Banana Blueberry muffins and then went on a walk to take them to the neighbours! I even read lots and worked on my felt food. It was awesome. now Im exhausted. Owen was miserable today. He has two new teeth coming in so I guess he has an excuse. But it still buts a damper on my day. Jaxon has been a real great three year old today.
The other day I took Jaxon to Walmart and he wanted a new car. He picked one out that was $5 I told him he needed to use him money. (people keep giving him money and he keeps it in his pggy bank) So when we got home he paid me the $5 for it. It ook almost all he had in the bank but he just looked at it and said "Thats ok next time I go to Mamas Ill do Laundry and get more money' He already has toys in mind for the next time he sves up his money!

What a sweetheart! I love him. His new trick is he crawls over to the back door and stands up and bangs on the door, BEGGING to go outside. This kid loves the outdoors. He could play out there all day everyday!

tonight we had a thunderstorm and the power kept going out. the boys were so brave. Owen and Jaxon just pulled out there little Spongebob lanterns that daddy brought them and they had a blast in the dark. I love my boys! Jaxon really loved the giant mud puddle in the intersection across from us. He also would tell us that the lightning goes like this..then he would blink he eyes really fast. Funny kid
Owen is really starting to move now. He is slowy gaining confidence and took 5 steps to me! Im sure in a week he will be running! Thats both really exciting and really scary to me!
