Times they are a changing

Today I am Thankful for SLEEP
I miss sleep. Jaxon is almost 4 and FINALLY is sleeping through the night. YAY! Owen who used to be an awesome sleeper has stopped sleeping... I have a 1 hour (2 if Im really lucky) nap from him during the day and then he is up about 3 times a night (at least 2 times) I have taken to sleeping on the couch with him on his little couch beside me because that way all I have to do is roll over and pat his back or give him is soother instead of walking down the hall to his room. Last night was a brutal night... I went to bed at 9 because I had a killer miagrain and I got my day started at 730 so that should be 10.5 hours sleep... but I was up 9 times last night.... He just doesnt like to sleep! BLARGH (one or two times last night I was woken up by are totally awesome partyer neighbours but the other 7 were owen) here's hoping for a better night tonight!
We finally had a nice day today too. It has be bitterly cold this week so me and the boys have stayed indoors. Which means CABIN FEVER. Tim took the boys out this afternoon and they played for at least an hour in the snow. What a good daddy they have!
Tomorrow is the big day. They announced last sunday that we had to go to this 'special' meeting this sunday at 2pm. Sounds like they are changing the ward boundaries. Which is bitter sweet. I love my ward and want it to stay the same no matter how unrealistic that is. So part or me is hoping that I stay with the majority of Chaparral ward... but since we are in Walden and not chaparral that seems unlikely... which sorta excites me too because its always an adventure when I new ward starts and you get to be a part of it from day one. So after a week of wondering we are approaching the end and will find out tomorrow!

King Jaxon!
Jaxon is growing up so fast. he will be 4 in less then a month! I know! He is getting so smart and such a helper. He cracks me up all the time. he is super funny! He is really into building things lately. We make towers and castles alot. He also has loved puzzles this week! he is super good at them too!

Music

Today I am Thankful for MUSIC
  On thursdays Owen and Jaxon have music class. I love watching them dance and sing and play the instruments. I was really surprised that Jaxon loves it as much as he does. At home he normally could care less about music. owen is my dancer! But Jaxon just goes to town when he is there. Its super cute.
  This afternoon Jaxon asked me to turn on Hairspray and we had a dance party. He is hilarious! He also has taken to saying "you cant stop me! Im all powerful!" Not sure where he got that but I about peed my pants I was laughing so hard!

Today I am Thankful for HELPER BOYS
Today was a pretty normal day. All I did was clean and go to safeway, but the boys were so happy and willing to help. It was a pretty good day. Plus Jaxon has taken to calling me 'Master' so I cant complain. I ask him to do something and he says "Yes Master" LOVE IT
I dont know if I posted these pictures yet so if I did they are worth a second look

Owen loves shows and is always putting some ones on his feet. Yes Jaxon has no pants on.... if we are at home and no one is coming over he takes them off... I cant stop it...

Owen loves trains! LOVES THEM. Thomas is is favorite of course and he plays with him all the time. These are all the Take n Play Thomas train sets we have. I set them all up in the living room one day and he was thrilled!

Today I am Thankful for LOVE
Of cource on Valentines day I have to say love! It was a super fun day. I got to go to preschool with Jaxon and have fun giving out valentines and decorating cookies. The kids are always so much fun! Thanks go to my friend Linda who was so willing to take owen for me on like 10 minutes notice! YOU ROCK LINDA!
  Owen is finally better... I think. Although his teeth are still not in! ARGH... Im so sick of sleeping on the couch next to him... I miss my bed.
  Tonight we are taking the boys swimming... and I promise this week I make sure the suits on in the bag!!! BAHAHAH... Jaxon is so excited. He woke up yesterday and when I told him it was a church day he said "YES! That means tomorrow is monday and that means just one more sleep until we go swimming!"
  Well I figured there is no better way to celebrate the day then by sharing my valentines with you!

family

Today I am thankful for FAMILY
  We did nothing today. And I loved it. Owen has been a real pill lately. He is working on some teeth and has had a fever for the last 2 days. Miserable doesnt even begin to describe it. if he was awake he was crying and he wasnt sleeping at night... AWFUL.
  So today we just hung out. We played. We walked to the park. We dug in the snow. It was great! Plus I made Gumbo... you will have to go to to http://www.thatkindamom.blogspot.com/ to read about that!
  Now Im putting off going to bed... Its CRAZY windy and I hate the wind. Makes it impossible for me to sleep and it wakes up my kids... looks like Im in for a rough night. So yeah I know I should go to bed and sleep while I can... but since I know its going to be a crappy night I try to pretend its not night time...

Fun Day

Today I am Thankful for MUSIC
  I think I may have mentioned it before but I am lucky to be in a ward of super incredibly talented ladies. I am constantly in awe of all the do. I am constantly inspired. One of the ladies, Miss Pam, has started doing a music class for toddlers in her house. She does it outside her house as well, but its up north so she has started one in her house. I am lucky enough to have her allow me to bring both my boys. Jaxon loves it. they sing and dance and wiggle and he is wild the entire time and laughing! Owen adores music and he loves it too. he was more reserved then I thought he would be but he was giggling the entire time too! he would sit with Miss Pam and when we went to leave Jaxon looks at me and says... but I dont want to go! I think it will be become the highlight of our week!
  Funny story for you about Jaxon... Yesterday he asked me where our rocket was. I told him we dont have a rocket... we have a car. he looked shocked "how are we supposed to get to the moon?? We cant drive out car to the moon!" Awesome... looks like we have some explaining as to what an astronaut is to do!

Been a while

Its been awhile since I wrote anything... life has been insane. Thursday morning at 2am  Owen threw up... he was better by morning-ish but that night was a write off... then thursday night I had the RS service auction. It was a lot of work but alot of fun. We have a super group of sisters in this ward. they are all so supportive and amazingly talented! I feel lucky to associate with them! Then friday was a friday... Jaxon when to school, and we left the boys with Stef and Jarett so Tim adn I coudl go to a speech workshop for Jaxon... then at midnight Jaxon threw up... so that nght was a write off... he was better by saturday afternoon. But tim was sick too and then it hit me sunday morning. So that should explain the absense.
  So today I am thankful for HEALTH! lets hope it sticks around this time!
  Now I have some funny Jaxon stories to share. First the other night I am putting him to bed and he tells me he hates dots (his quilt has dots on it) he likes stripes, they are his favorite.. so he says. I tell him that he only has s dot blanket and he seems to get over it. Well that night at 1am he wonders into my room and I tell him to go back to bed... which he does. Then I hear him muttering in his room "i dont like dots... i want a stripe blanket" sure enough 10 minutes later he is back in my room complaining about the dots! I could not beleive it! I was not going to fight in the middle of the night! luckily for me he was easily swayed! Lets hope he learns to like dots!
  We tried to go swimming yesterday for FHE.. key word... tried... Its totally my fault... I was rushing to get everything ready and I told jaxon to grab his swim shorts and Owens swim shorts... which he did.. I saw that he had them and I told him to put them in our bag... which I didnt make sure he did... so there we are standing in the change room... and no swim trunks for the boys! Jaxon was not impressed! But he has been pretty easy going lately so like a big boy he shed a few tears but agreed it would be nasty to go swimming naked and that we should go home and try again next week.
  Oh yeah... thats his new word NASTY.. everything is nasty. I love it!
  Owen... is owen... bipolar owen. one moment he is happy the next he is screaming. I am constantly having to remind myself that I am a joyful mother of children. I can not wait for his teeth to come him..

Snow Fun

Today I am thankful for SNOWMEN
Yes I still hate winter. But today we had a sorta break from it. yes there was still snow but at least it was warm out. Jaxon played in the snow for an hour. I spent about 30 minutes out there. We built this awesome snowman. We even had a snow ball fight. jaxon thought that was a blast. he didnt even cry when I being the awesome mom that I am nailed him in the face with one. I didnt make him wear his snowpants because it was so warm. We were both drench. Even owen joined us for a bit once he woke up from nap.

Friends

Today I am Thankful for GOOD FRIENDS
I am really blessed to have some awesome friends. Besides being super talented, amazing women they are kind and caring and so much fun. Makes my life alot easier and fuller.
This morning Jaxon got to go to a birthday party for one of his best buddies, corbin. It was a great party! it was super hero themed and my super amazing friend Chelsea blew me away by making the kids personalized superhero capes to take him. AWESOME.
Then we spent the afternoon over at our friends the salas house. They live just down the street which is awesome because Ive taken to just hanging out with claire. Its nice to have a grown up around and just do crafts or tag team the kids, mostly it just keeps me sane frmo all the Diego, Dora, Spongebob-ness. Krysten is a fiery chick and fits right in with my two maniacs!

Today I am Thankful for BEING DONE WITH BORING BOOKS
  I have been reading a book that was just boring. But I finally finished it this weekend. I guess that was one good thing about the snow. I didnt go anywhere so I read alot... now I can move onto something good!
  Jaxon is still loving Primary. Today he was all excited because he said closing prayer in his class. He has gotten so big. Owen is 4 weeks away from nursery... I CANNOT WAIT!

Crafts

Today I am Thankful for CRAFTS
I am running on no sleep... I havent slept in 37 hours. Oh the joys of being a mom! I am seriously wanting to fall asleep soon. But I wanted to share these pictures of Jaxon. Its not often that he does crafts. But the other day I convinced him to give it a go. I had found this wooden car at michaels for like a dollar and we busted out the paints and he went to town. I think it being a car craft really helped. but now his paints are all gone... Ill have to go get more!

King of the Castle

Today I am Thankful for JAXON
Jaxon is my little buddy. I love him so much! Lately he has turned into such a helpful boy. He is always picking up his toys and helping take care of Owen. Jaxon is growing up way too fast! He is mr independent!
The other day we built towers together. I think our little village turned out pretty cool. He was a little upset when he tried to jump over them and they all got knocked over, but then we just started over again.

Today was a beautiful day out which means that they took the kids out to play at preschool. Jaxon loves days like those. He get Cabin fever pretty easy. All day he talked about making paths in the snow for miss terri. They are also talking about vehicles at school. Today was helicopters. As soon as I came in to get him frmo school he looked at me and said "Mommy... why have I never been on a Helicopter??" I told him Id work in it... really Im hoping he forgets!

Bedtime

Today I am Thankful for BEDTIME
  Im a mother of 2 CRAZY boys... my day starts (on a good day) at 630... and we hit the ground running..and we dont stop until 9pm...GO GO GO... oh and you would think that super active kids crash and sleep great at night... nope... jaxon is up at least once and owen is up at least 2... most night me and owen get a couple hours of food network from 1am-3am... bedtime is wonderful!

Weekends

Today I am Thankful for WEEKENDS
Generally weekends are that different then my week days. Being a stay at home mom is a 24/7 life style! But at least on weekends tim is generally home and can hep out! Today he even took the boys to Okotoks and I got to stay home and read and be crafty! I whipped out 10 more of those picture frames I made before (go to www.thatkindamom.blogspot.com if you want to see them!) and I started on Jaxon's Valentines. I even got to read and watch a show I had PVRed... It was HEAVEN! I will say one thing though... Im always so ambitious on weekends... this afternoon I was thinking of staying up late and watching a movie once the boys are in bed, but now that it is almost 8pm all I want to do is curl up in bed and read...or fall a sleep!
One thing I wanted to do that I didnt was make a Sunday bag. But at least I have a few ideas now as to what to put in it and stuff so this week Ill work on sacrament meeting appropriate activites. Fingers crossed that my maniacs will learn reverence!

Happy Birthday Auntie Rachel!

Today I am Thankful for AUNTY RACHEL
So I thought since its my sister Rachel's 21st birthday today it would only be fair that she be what I am Thankful for today! HAPPY BIRTHDAY AUNTY RACHEL!
My Boys adore their aunty rachel and she adores them... except when they are poopy... then she passes them off to me! Jaxon was so excited to call her today to say Happy birthday but right as she answered the phone he got all shy and would only whisper. But he sure misses her when she is away at school!
Rachel and I are total opposites... she is a living barbie doll... me.. not so much! But she is still a pretty cool girl!
How did she get to be 21??
Here is a picture I took at christmas this year... Its on Christmas eve at like 8pm... Jaxon asked to watch cartoon and snuggled up to Aunty Rachel, within 5 minutes he was sleeping. Out like a light!

Slide Rockets

Today I am Thankful for SLIDE ROCKETS
 Today I got to go help out at Jaxons preschool again. I loving doing that. It has finally warmed up today so we took the whole class out to the park. It was a gong show getting 14 kids outfitted int snowpants, hats, mittens and boots, but we did it. And they loved it. Once we got to the park they kids were hestitant at first as to what to do... it was covered in snow. But Jaxon climbed up the steps and just slid down the slide. Soone all the kids were doing it to. The Best part was that the more the kids slid on it the fasted the slide went. Soon the little kiddos were just flying off the end of the slide into snowbanks. It was so funny!

Just a Typical day

Today was a pretty typical day... nothing to exciting and nothing too bad either... But lets shake things up a bit with things Im not Thankful for today!
1) GUM - Owen loves the car carts at safeway... so I put him in one and was thrilled that I was getting peace and quiet while I did groceries... that should have been my first clue. because I get to the cash and his face is all blue, his hands are all blue and he is crewing on something.I asked him what he is eating and he shows me an empty gum ball wrapper... AWESOME. I dont know how he didnt choke, why he didnt swallow it... But Im grateful for guardian angels... Owen did not want to give it up and I had to dig around for a long time getting it all out of his mouth... NASTY
2) WINTER - There are serveral reasons why I hate winter... today its because strawberries were 6.99... BOO
3) THE SHAWNESSY LIBRARY PARKING LOT - I drove around for 15 minutes trying to find a spot... not a good spot... just a spot... I eventually just left... looks like Ill have to return/pickup my books another day.

But today I am thankful for BAKING WITH MY BOYS
Jaxon loves to help me bake. Especially when its his favorite chocolate chip cookies. Owen has to do everything that jaxon does so know I have two little helpers.

Afternoon Naps and my little stinker

Today I am Thankful for AFTERNOON NAPS
Today I was lucky enough to have an afternoon nap. I laid on the couch, both my boys game me a smooch on my cheek and then tim took them down to the toy room and I snoozed for 90 minutes. It was Glorious! I dont get to nap often at all anymore and I sure do miss them. That is one nice thing about 9 am church... sunday afternoon naps!
Jaxon has gone to Primary for a couple weeks now. He loves it. I hear he is a little crazy in class, but he sits still for singing time and he talks about the songs all the time. I dont know how he got so big! how did I get so old! I sure love my Jaxon. He was a huge helper today and would do anything I asked and even little things that made things better with out being asked. Like helping Owen when he was angry, and cleaning up some toys. He really is a sweet little boy.
And then there is my monster. No other nick name suits Owen so well. He is trouble and he knows it and loves it. he looks for ways to cause problems! and he thinks its all so funny. He can now push chairs across the hardwood in the kitchen... so he now pushes them to the island and climbs up in search of his soother and when he gets hungry... why not help yourself in the pantry is his theory... What im only 16 months... no problem Ive got it covered!

Books

Today I am Thankful for BOOKS
 I was going to post a picture of books today... but I forgot to take a picture... maybe Ill do that tomorrow and add it to this post.
  But I love to read. Its one of my absolute favorite things to do. Today Tim took the boys out to Okotoks, which means I got to spend the afternoon reading. Which was awesome since Im really into this book called the Book Thief and I need to return it to the Library soon! It was a wondeful afternoon

  Funny thing about Jaxon. He was started to say soem pretty funny things. He says ABSOLUTELY all the time, instead of saying yes and he has started calling people Fool! I love it... he comes up and says What are you doing Fool!?? he does it to be funny and wait for me to laugh. Makes me crack up!
